purple elephants… that’s what i tell the big brothers and sisters of my little newborn babes to look for in my camera lens when it goes click…

i adore the look of concentration they get… holding the pose, being very still and quiet so as not to wake baby, whispering when we talk, listening for the baby’s heart beat and looking for the elephants inside the red circle on the camera…

none of that horrid ‘say cheese’ nonsense

disclaimer: it doesn’t *always* work! some toddlers don’t like elephants. or monkeys. or the promise of a treat afterwards. or my singing…

Just want to say a HUGE thank you Renee, for capturing one of the most special times in my life ? It’s hard to believe it’s been 9 months since we started this journey and i’m so so so happy with the results of all of photos. I really think every woman should do this when they are pregnant. It’s amazing to look back on and i’m sure in the years to come i will appreciate it even more!
You have been an absolute pleasure to work with, both professionally and on a friendship level. Your work is quick and amazing and i cannot wait for you to capture our new baby when it’s time xoxox

this little guy was in no great hurry to enter the world, arriving well after his due date and delaying his family’s plans to move to another town… from what i hear, all settled now in Mudgee and i am excited to get their print order to them ready to hang in their new home

i loooove textures, and soft pretty colours… putting together items that you wouldn’t initially think work well together…

most newborn photo sessions i try out something bright and bold – something really WOW for my client’s wall. but always, my faithful favorites never cease to amaze me with their simplicity…

this hat, is one of my faves – designed by a very talented and patient lady who washes and spins her own yarn!

meet 8 day old Kayla, who i had the pleasure of photographing today…

a gorgeous little girl, with the most divine blonde eyelashes and fuzzy hair i have ever seen!

boy, did she make a mess though! lol. i think, we now have the first story for her dad to tell at her 21st

for those who have had a session with me before you will know that tiny baby + lots of milk + no nappy = big mess!!! (not always but most of the time) so, when Kayla [quite literally] exploded i wasn’t really fazed. but… i forgot to mention to Kayla’s parents to beware, so there was a mixture of hysterical laughter and revulsion from poor dad, who copped most of it whoops!!

all for the art though… we got some gorgeous images, cant wait to share some more!!!

note to self, remind parents that mess is to be expected before session! and go hang the washing out!
