One of my favourite newborn images

One of my favourite newborn images, from May 2011.

I have it in a huge canvas in my studio!

Spencer is about to celebrate his 4th birthday and he also became a big brother to Fraser last year!  Super exciting 🙂

Newcastle Newborn Photographer [Fraser]

Newcastle Newborn Fraser1Newcastle Newborn Fraser2

Meet Fraser, with some images from his newborn photo session and a little interview with his mama Kate 🙂

Tell us about your new baby in your own words. How does he look, feel, smell.
Fraser is just this amazingly perfect human being. From his tiny little toes to his full head of dark hair, I could stare at him all day.

Babies are made up of everything soft and sweet and delicate. What is your favourite part of your bubba and why.
My favorite part of Fraser would have to be his cute button nose and of course that in intoxicating new baby smell. He also makes the cutest noises while he is sleeping. He also has adorable furry ears

Newcastle Newborn Fraser4Newcastle Newborn Fraser7Newcastle Newborn Fraser6Newcastle Newborn Fraser5
Who does Fraser most look like?
He looks like his big brother Spencer and a bit like his Grandpa.

(To prove it – here is a pic from both boy’s newborn photo sessions to show the comparison!)
110508_SpencerDouglas17
How did you come up with your babies name?
The name Fraser is a Scottish baby name. In Scottish the meaning of the name Fraser is: Strawberry flowers. Of the forest men.
We choose “Fraser” because it was a strong name, you knew instantly when you saw it written that he was a boy and it’s not hard to spell. His middle name is “Stewart” after both my parents. My dads name is Stewart and it’s also my mothers maiden name.
How is your little one’s personality developing already? What does Fraser like or dislike? Does he love to be wrapped or arms and legs free? Does he prefer to be hot or cold? Does he love to sleep, or want to party all night? Does he love to feed?
He is the sweetest little thing who loves nothing more then to be snuggled up in someones arms. So far he is an awesome sleeper and feeder, how amazing is watching your baby drink magical sleepy milk
Please describe your new baby in three words.
Scott – soft, cuddly, hairy
Kate – down.right.amazing
Spencer – little, so cute

River was photographed at 6 days old which is the perfect time to have photos taken of your newborn baby! Photo sessions are generally done between 6 and 10 days old (or asap after leaving hospital) and to guarantee a place it is best to book a few months in advance!

I just took a booking for early March 2015 last night!! How awesome is that!

Progressive Maternity shoot ~ Eliza

Progressive maternity photo shoots are such a wonderful way to document the growth of your belly throughout your pregnancy! After photographing Eliza’s first pregnancy and newborn baby Patrick I was so happy to have her book in again for baby number two. This time we did progressive maternity sessions in my Belmont photography studio at 20 weeks, 34 weeks and 38 weeks. Then the newborn photo session with baby Liam at a week old.

So…

Why have a maternity photo shoot for the second baby?

I really loved our photos from the maternity shoot that Renee did for our firstborn in 2011. It is such a nice keepsake of that time which really was unlike any other.

For this time around the opportunity to have a progressive maternity shoot documenting my belly approx once a month seemed like such a lovely idea. After the baby is born it is so easy to forget how much things can change in the space of a month.
Now that we are expecting our second baby it’s not just my husband and I waiting, but Patrick too. He’s already started to develop a relationship with this baby and I wanted to capture the changing nature of our family. Also, this second pregnancy has gone by so quickly, with so many other things to focus on (like taking care of a busy toddler), that it’s nice to take a moment to focus on being pregnant and the new baby.

Newcastle Maternity Photographer [Rebecca + Aidan]

18mth old Aidan is going to be a big brother very soon!!!

NFE Maternity, NFE Design, Renee Bell Photographer, newcastle maternity photographer, maternity photos, baby bump, maternity plus sibling

Name: Aidan
Age: 18mths
Nickname: Aidie
Favorite colour: Red! The luckiest Chinese colour. (Although his Mummy likes red the least, so we clash a little!)
Favorite song to sing/ tv show to watch/ game to play: The Wonky Donkey! Doesn’t watch TV but loves creating super high wobbly towers of blocks to knock over.
Describe Aidan in 4 words: Affectionate, clever, enthusiastic and hilarious.
How is Aidan feeling about a new brother or sister? He is a bit too little to really understand, but he definitely senses something is about to change. He is quite perceptive.
What is he most excited about when baby arrives? (or not) He doesn’t seem to like the baby’s clothes in his wardrobe! Likes to pull all the clothes off their hangers, but carefully leaves his own clothes untouched!
What does he think you are having? Mummy would love for him to have a baby brother. He loves the company of other boys and would be the best older brother/best friend a little guy could have.

Newcastle Newborn Photography [Inara]

Baby Inara was given a beautiful unusual name like her sister (Xanthe) after a character from one of her parents most loved sci-fi series (Firefly).  Her Mum says her sleepy eyelids are her favorite part of her newborn baby… {So papery thin I can see the blood coursing through them and such a range of behavior from the most delicate twitches to still as a stone.} and that Inara took to breastfeeding more naturally than her sister. Her favourite place is to be snuggled up on mums chest in a sling or wrap.
Here are some images from Inara’s newborn photography session

Who does baby most look like? Her sister Xanthe
What does Inara’s name mean? Inara was a Hittite goddess of the wild (similar to Diana the huntress.) I believe it also means light in Arabic.

Newcastle Photographer [Patrick]

NFE Design, kids potography, childrens photographer, renee bell photographer, newcastle photographer, newcastle studio photography
It seems like just a few months ago that I was photographing Patrick as a newborn, but all of a sudden he is 3, and expecting a new baby brother or sister in just a few weeks…
Here are a few pics of Patrick taken during one of his Mama’s progressive maternity shoots (this session with was at 34 weeks) and a little interview with Patrick and his Mum.
Name: Patrick
Age: 3 years
Nickname: Mostly gets called Patrick but has lots of different nicknames from everyone.
Favorite colour(s): Green and orange
Please describe Patrick in 4 words: I tried, but I failed! It sounds corny but I can’t limit how amazing he is to just four words…
How is Patrick feeling about a new brother or sister? He seems excited, my belly is getting more hugs and kisses than I am at the moment.
What is Patrick most excited about when baby arrives? (or not): I think he’s looking forward to giving the baby some toys and clothes that we have ready, especially ‘baby bear’ and some socks.
Does he think you are having a boy or a girl? When I ask Patrick if we’re having a boy or a girl, he answers “no, a baby”. What does he say if you suggest it might be the opposite? If I suggest either boy or girl, he’s adamant it’s “a baby”!
