“This looks so good!!!! I love this texture and gooey mess!! It really helps to show the product rather than just being in its jar/bottle ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘”

“We love a good skincare swatch ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜”

“Youโ€™re right on point. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ These images definitely helps a customer understand the consistency of a product which is important to me”

For me texture is all important! ๐Ÿค” I donโ€™t like anything too thick and creamy, so this would be perfect for highlighting the lightness of the cream!

NFE Design specialises in scroll-stopping content that converts!

As a beauty product photographer, I love to create skincare swatch images. Swatch photos can be used in many ways and are especially good when used as background images or as part of a flat lay photograph. You can see examples of this on this page, throughout this website and on our @nfedesign Instagram page. Whether it is text announcing a sale, sharing a glowing testimonial or showcasing the ingredients or texture of the product they can be repurposed many times.

Capturing moving content of skincare swatches (as shown in the Instagram reels above), can be especially enticing. I use them a lot on my own Instagram page, and they always get much more engagement than other reels. These clips, known as B-roll, are a favourite type of content we love to create โ€” the messier, the better.

How swatch and drip
photography works.

We’ll need your products, and it’s likely we will need a few of each. Sometimes we will need to scoop product from one jar, while keeping a second in pristine condition to be photographed beside the swatch.

These shoots require a clear brief. Once the product is exposed to air, it can soften or change texture so timing is key. We shoot with natural light, meaning once the lighting is perfect then we need to move quickly. Once spilled and swatched, the product canโ€™t be reused, so we plan carefully to make every shot count.

Swatches can be photographed alone, in close detail, or with the product jar in place to add variety and context.

We always shoot with natural lighting, but we can adjust it to create defined shadows if preferred.

We can create a series of shots using your brandโ€™s colour palette and various backgrounds or textures.

White is a classic choice, but we also offer other tones to suit your brandโ€™s aesthetic.

Serum dripping and spilling images are quite aesthetic and often create intrigue. These are especially lovely with darker or unique coloured formulations but can also be successfully achieved with clear serums.

some shots make a mess

Often, cosmetic product dripping over bottles or jars can make them greasy or damage labels. We plan for this during the shoot so products are preserved for later use.

High-quality skincare product photography can provide a competitive edge in a crowded marketplace!

We can style and photograph a collection of images of your skincare, beauty or cosmetic product. As beauty product photographers we are experts at capturing texture and details, and all images are photographed using natural light to give that glowy lifestyle feel and to bring your products to life.
